DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A military jet demonstration team is expected to perform at two Ohio air shows next summer, a year after federal budget cuts halted such flying acts.
The chairman of the Dayton Vectren Air Show in southwest Ohio tells WDTN-TV the event will be on next year's limited schedule for the Navy's Blue Angels team.
Show chairman Michael Emoff says the news came as a surprise. The show drew smaller crowds this year after the appearance by the Air Force Thunderbirds was cancelled, and the event was marred by the death of a wing walker and pilot in a crash.
WKYC-TV in northeast Ohio reports the Blue Angels also will perform at the 2014 Cleveland National Air Show, tentatively scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
