COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio residents are running out of time to register to vote in the general election this fall.
The deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 5 election is Monday.
At stake are a variety of races for local offices, such as mayors in several cities. The secretary of state's office says there will be more than 1,600 local issues on ballots around Ohio, including 195 school issues.
The window for absentee voting already has begun, and absentee ballots can be requested by mail until Nov. 2. Voters in Ohio can cast an absentee ballot early by mail or in person without giving any reason.
