CLEVELAND (AP) — The body of a 15-year-old Cleveland boy who'd been swimming at an unguarded beach with friends has been recovered from Lake Erie.
The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reports (bit.ly/13i6Ino) that Gregory Adams was pulled from the water by Cleveland firefighters around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday and pronounced dead at a local hospital. An autopsy will be done on Wednesday.
The boy had been swimming at Perkins Beach in Edgewater Park with friends, jumping from a tree limb that was floating in the lake.
A spokeswoman for the Cleveland Metroparks, which manages Edgewater Park, says the beach has no guards and is marked with "No Swimming" signs.
