HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a southwest Ohio movie theater manager has been critically wounded in an attempted after-hours robbery.
Authorities in the Dayton suburb of Huber Heights say the 22-year-old woman was hit in her side at 10:45 Wednesday night when a would-be robber shot through the window of her SUV. Police say she was planning to drive from the Danbarry Cinemas to a nearby bank for night deposit. After being shot, she drove to the police station, then was transported to Miami Valley Hospital.
The Dayton Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/11OLJow ) that police called her wound life-threatening. The hospital confirmed Thursday that Anika (ANN'-ee-kuh) Emmanuel was hospitalized, but wouldn't release any other information.
Detectives say no money was taken and they are searching for leads to any suspects.
