CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Some charges have been dropped against four people accused in a central Ohio neighborhood riot that left a 21-year-old woman dead. But a prosecutor said they could face more serious charges later.
Four adults and two juveniles were charged with aggravated rioting after the March brawl in a Circleville neighborhood led to the fatal beating of Brittany Jeffers.
Prosecutor Judy Wolford dropped the charges against the four adults, but she tells the Circleville Herald (http://bit.ly/12WfJoE ) that new charges could be filed based on a coroner's report that ruled Jeffers' death a homicide.
She wouldn't provide details but said any new charges will be considered by the county grand jury later. Two 17-year-olds still face rioting charges.
Police said the brawl started when two teens began fighting in the street.
