TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The mother of a missing 1-year-old girl in northwest Ohio has been taken to jail on a felony child endangering charge.
The Lucas County jail said 25-year-old Angela Mories was taken into custody Wednesday and was set to be arraigned Thursday in Toledo Municipal Court. The jail had no attorney listed for her.
Mories' 1-year-old daughter, Elaina Steinfurth, was last seen June 2. That's when the girl's father went to Mories' residence to pick up his two daughters, but only Elaina's 4-year-old sister could be found.
Authorities and volunteers have searched homes, vacant buildings, parks and other areas for any sign of Elaina.
The Blade newspaper reports police brought in a cadaver dog and searched several homes Wednesday but didn't comment on that search.
