CLEVELAND (AP) — The 12-year-old Cleveland girl who was shot in a playground last weekend is recovering quickly, and she has some advice for the men who did the shooting: "Go to church."
Doctors say Toni Landers is doing well after a bullet fractured a rib on her right side, punctured a lung and exited through her back. She was caught in the crossfire of a shooting at a playground Sunday night on Cleveland's west side.
Police arrested a 20-year-old suspect.
Her mother said doctors are "amazed" at her recovery.
When she gets out of the hospital, Toni is going to be able to get the dog she's been wanting. But she tells The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer (http://bit.ly/137zNk9 ) that she won't be walking her new pet in the park where she was shot.
