BROWNSBURG, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State Police say a pileup with more than 40 vehicles has closed Interstate 70 in both directions west of Indianapolis
Semi-trucks and other vehicles involved in a mulit-car crash are strewn across westbound Interstate 275 between Colerain Avenue and Hamilton Avenue Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 in Cincinnati. Local news reports say the crash occurred about 2 p.m. in eastbound lanes near the interchange with State Road 267 a few miles west of Indianapolis International Airport.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says all eastbound lanes will be closed about 8 hours until Thursday night. Westbound lanes were expected to be closed until late afternoon. INDOT says eastbound traffic was being diverted at Indiana 39.
The involved vehicles include several semitrailer rigs.
There was no immediate word on injuries.
