Cooperators honored


Carol, left and Alice O'Brien were recognized Thursday night as the Logan County Soil and Water Conservation District's cooperators of the year for their efforts on their Wildflower Farm at 6332 County Road 158, Middleburg. They were honored at the district's annual meeting of the year conducted in cooperation with the annual meeting of the Logan County Farm Bureau at Winner Harvest Barn. Thompson attends youth leadership summit


Calvary Christian High School student Nathalie Thompson recently attended the Youth Leadership Association’s annual YLA Leadership Summit at Camp Horseshoe in West Virginia. In addition to participating in traditional outdoor camp activities where teamwork and communication are at the forefront, the students engage in dialogue and debate on domestic and international policy that impacts them.

Outstanding student performances recognized

Outstanding performances on advanced placement exams have been achieved by a number of Bellefontaine City Schools students and graduates.


Senior Ryan Dunn has been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction for scoring an average of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scoring a 3.0 or higher on five or more AP exams.


Senior Daniel Boy has been recognized as an AP Scholar with Honor for scoring an average of at least 3.25 on all exams taken and scoring at least 3.0 on four or more exams.


Dylan Myers, a senior, was recognized as an AP Scholar for receiving at least 3.0 on at least three AP exams, as were 2014 BHS graduates Jordan Fox, Nicholas Heydinger, William Houser, Cody Sheeley and Brooke Turner.

BHS Class of 1964


During their 50-year reunion weekend, members of the Bellefontaine High School Class of 1964 toured the Logan County History Center, had lunch on Goslee’s Turtle Shell Island at Indian Lake and enjoyed a dinner gathering at the Huntsville Event Center. Indian Lake administrators take ice bucket challenge


Indian Lake School District administrators accepted an ALS ice bucket challenge from the mayors of Russells Point and Lakeview, and Friday afternoon were subjected to the chill.

Those participating included Kyle Wagner, curriculum director; Dave Coburn, assistant high school principal; Ron Borgerding, technology director; Rob Underwood, high school principal; Gene Gooding, middle school principal; Molly Hall and Jeff Reprogle, elementary school co-principals; Jeff Courter, athletic director; and Pat O’Donnell, superintendent.
