Students at Indian Lake Schools spent Earth Day Wednesday studying and practicing ways to conserve resources. First-graders in Jodi Carder’s class picked up litter in front of the school and on the playground. They turned off the lights and read by the windows, and also brainstormed practical ways to conserve resources, like recycling, turning off the water when brushing their teeth and unplugging electronics that aren’t in use. Fifth-graders in Jana Core’s class also studied pathways of pollution and how to prevent further contamination of Earth’s soil and water.
