Baird takes DAR trophy

Benjamin Logan High School senior Caitlyn Baird was the winner of the local Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen contest, taking the traveling Madonna of the Trail trophy for year-long display at her home school.

 

She also earned a $100 scholarship prize. Her essay also was sent on to compete at the district level.

 

Other seniors recognized included Connor Mason of Bellefontaine High School, Levi Stapleton of Riverside and Courtni Pippin of the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.

Sweet Rewards

A total of 216 Bellefontaine High School students were invited to the Sweet Rewards event Friday, hosted by the BHS Academic Boosters to recognize pupils earning a minimum 3.25 grade point average. Students partook of a buffet of sweets, and had a chance to play a Price is Right game and participate in $400 worth of cash drawings.

CCS students receive ACSI award

Fifteen Calvary Christian High School sophomores and juniors recently were honored by the Association of Christian Schools International with the Distinguished Christian High School Student Award. The award was based on outstanding achievement in fine arts, leadership, athletics, and Christian service. Recipients were nominated by teachers, coaches and administrators. Award winners included Nathalie Thompson, Baylee Durnell, Amanda Koons, Maddie McGillis, Maykala Hartley, Jake Watkins, Austin Durnell, Peter Printz, Josh Wilt, Daniel Salmonowicz, Blake Wenger, Clayton Slemmons, Scott Brunson, Stephen Smithers and Alex McGillis.
