Benjamin Logan FFA National Convention trip

On October 20th thirty-two Benjamin Logan FFA members set out on their trip to the FFA National Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The national FFA convention is held each October with nearly 55,000 FFA members and guests from across the country in attendance. Members participated in general sessions, competitive events, educational tours, leadership workshops, a career show and expo, volunteer activities and much more. It is one of the largest annual student conventions in the country. This year the Ben Logan FFA visited Kelsey Dairy Farms, attended a Lady Antebellum concert as well as a rodeo, visited the Indiana War memorials as well as participated in all the general sessions.

During the 2010 National FFA Convention six Benjamin Logan FFA chapter graduates received their American Degrees. The American FFA Degree is awarded to FFA members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs). Approximately 3,500 American FFA Degrees are handed out each year at the National FFA Convention.  That number represents less than half of one percent of all FFA members, making it one of the organization’s highest honors.

Benjamin Logan FFA Chapter’s American FFA Degree recipients were Jordan Shepherd, James Rice, Cody Rees, Kari Holcomb, Andrew Haun, and Christopher Cronkleton.
