RivFFAstate degree

Riverside/Ohio Hi-Point Career Center FFA members D.J. Strayer, Kameron Schlumbohm, Chris Smith and Seth Topp received their state FFA degrees during the Ohio FFA Convention earlier this month.

This award is presented to the top 3 percent of 25,000 FFA members in Ohio.

Other chapter members who were honored at the convention included Raven Shoffner, who received a gold officer award for his treasurer’s book, and Shelby Nicholl, who received a gold officer award for her secretary’s book.

Also during the state convention, students toured the agriculture, high performance and diesel mechanics side of the University of Northwestern Ohio.

In other recent Riverside FFA news, students Cyan Fout, Sommer Thompson, Megan Richardson, Xienna Cafe, Shelby Nicholl, Kamry Harris, Jessica Slusher, Kyle Robison, Chris Smith, D.J. Strayer and Damien Stewart attended the 212/360 Conference in Columbus.

212 is the boiling point of water and it is the first component in the National FFA Leadership and Personal Growth Series. It is a two-day personal development conference designed primarily for high school freshman and sophomores.

360 is the second component in the National FFA Leadership and Personal Growth Series for juniors and seniors, building upon the curriculum of 212. During the conference, students explored a variety of careers available in the field of agriculture.
