Indian Lake Elementary School students are feeling the love during February as Heart Health Month.
Students who took part in the school’s annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser brought in more money than they had ever raised before, exceeding the goal of $4,000, with a total of $5,470 raised.
The top student collecting donations was first-grader Cohen Brown. Ava and Chase Polhamus tied for second and Chloe Borgerding was third. A total of 16 students brought in $100 or more, with other top fundraisers including T.J. Kinninger, Isabella Davis, Jonathan Sweeney, Lilly Wickline, Raelyn Horne, Draden Stevenson, Harly Kinninger, Lucy Buscher, Chance Alberding, Dawson Stevenson, Alexis Wauben and Grant Wickline.
Top classes included Sarah Elliott’s kindergarten class ($332); Jill Gillen’s first-grade class ($631); Sheri Abbott’s second-grade class ($760); Pam Scarpella’s third-grade class ($130); and Christi Warnecke’s fourth-grade class ($345).
