Fourteen members of the West Liberty-Salem FFA Chapter attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 25-28.
The first day, participants toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the convention opening session. The next day, they traveled to the Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, where one of the popular attractions was a hot air balloon ride.
At the first general session, students heard Laila Ali speak about her fighting and how women can do anything. Later that night, they attended the Buckeye Bash.
The following morning, they heard key note speaker Mick Ebeling, who founded a group called “not impossible” that helps people all over the world by creating products for individuals with disabilities. Pupils also attended workshops, including a session with a hypnotist.
Group reflections followed at the hotel. For the final convention event, members went to the Indianapolis Colts Stadium for the American Degree ceremony.
