In an annual tradition, members of the the local Girl Scouts of Service Unit 229 celebrate the March 12, 1912, Girl Scout birthday by welcoming the first baby girl born at Mary Rutan Hospital. This year’s “Future Girl Scout” is Jazmine Bowers born at 5:57 p.m. Friday, March 17. She weighed 9 pounds, 2.6 ounces and was 21 inches long. She was born to Amanda Workman and John Bowers of Sidney.
