Mary Rutan Hospital continued its support of local suicide prevention efforts with a $300 donation to the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Logan/Champaign Counties in conjunction with an upcoming “Suicide Sucks” benefit.
The event is slated for May 17 at the Mad River Farm Market, when area resident Amanda Stidam will be running her own personal fourth marathon in honor of her mother lost to suicide.
The community is invited to help cheer on Ms. Stidam as she crosses the finish line and celebrate with live entertainment provided by Honey Compass. There also will be a 50/50 drawing and raffle of many donated items.
This is the second year that Ms. Stidam has run on behalf of the Suicide Prevention Coalition, and this year, she also runs for the Here for Hope Coalition of Union County. Visit www.savealifelc.org for more information.
