CCS students publish Thanksgiving books

Calvary Christian School second-graders in Ruth Jensen’s classroom recently published a book called “Thanksgiving With Our Families.”

Early in the fall, the students began the process of creating the books by identifying a title. Each student then worked on a rough draft of their own page of writing and a separate illustrated page.

Following guidelines given by the publisher Nationwide Learning LLC, each student made their final draft pages using water-based markers on the pages provided by the company.

These pages were organized and sent to the publisher. Each family had the opportunity to purchase the finished product, which was available just before Christmas break.

In other school news, the middle school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chapter collected more than 75 gloves and hats that will be distributed to a local church to benefit Logan County children.

This is an example of service projects that middle school and high school students must complete throughout the school year.
