Riverside High School students recently visited the Ohio Fire Academy as a part of college and career readiness activities.
Rick Best, Ohio Fire Academy’s Eastern advocate manager, hosted the group and explained a number of aspects of academy training, including arson investigations, the evidence chain, training facilities, burn buildings and emergency services.
Students Jesse Kean, Aaron Kean and Greg Bryant said they are interested in continuing their families’ traditions of serving as firefighters in the DeGraff and Quincy.
Riverside High School guidance counselor Connie Beatty helped to coordinate this trip. She also recently arranged a full-day of student visits to Georgetown College and University of Kentucky.
