Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s School of Construction students recently completed construction on a home at 152 Lakewood Drive in Bellefontaine, a hands-on project started in August. Each year, the students enrolled in the carpentry, electricity, masonry, building maintenance, plumbing and pipefitting, and professional turf and landscaping programs build a house, from the foundation to the finishing touches. Working in a partnership with Dave and Ross Duff, Ohio Hi-Point is able to offer this unique program to students. The skilled instructors provide guidance and hands-on lessons, allowing students to take part in real world learning. At the end of the two-year program, students leave having built two houses. This is the 19th house the school of construction has completed.
