Riverside EMS members recently purchased a new squad as a result of the generosity of the former VFW Post 3528 of Quincy.

EMS personnel were invited to a ceremony, where they were surprised with a $12,500 donation from the VFW Post.

In 2002, the VFW sold their building and put the money in savings. When they decided to disband, the organization still had $25,000 in its name. One member suggested splitting the funds between Riverside EMS and Quincy EMS, and each of the other members agreed with the decision.

The Riverside EMS personnel wanted to show the veterans their appreciation, so decals were made that read “Thank You Post 3528” for the exterior of the squad.
