Logan County Board of Elections co-director LuCinda Holycross, right, and Mary Mortimer load the first round of absentee ballots to be mailed Tuesday, sending out approximately 1,800, with another 500 going out today. Hereafter, Director Diana Gamble said, absentee ballots will be sent daily as applications are received. Absentee voter ballots are available at the election board office, 225 S. Main St., or call 599-7255 for an application to vote by mail. Ballots must be returned to the board office by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 to be counted. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 9. The office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 225 S. Main St., and will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 9.
