Income tax question heading back to ballot

In a resolution passed in regular session Tuesday, the West Liberty-Salem school board took a first step toward placing an income tax renewal on the May ballot. The renewal would raise more than $1 million for the district’s current operating expenses.

West Liberty man indicted for phone threats

William Kyle, 53, of West Liberty, was indicted Wednesday by a Champaign County grand jury on one count of disrupting public services and two counts of inducing panic stemming from Dec. 13 incident in which he allegedly made telephone threats to harm Champaign County Child Support Enforcement Agency employees.
