A St. Paris woman died Thursday morning in a one-vehicle rollover crash in rural Champaign County, deputies of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office report.
Alison Bumgardner, 47, reportedly was operating a southbound van on Zimmerman Road just north of U.S. Route 36 about 7 a.m. when she lost control, drove off the west side of the road and overturned. She was partially ejected from the vehicle.
The Champaign County Coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle, Cailtin Woodrum, 26, was transported by squad to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana for non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies are still investigating the crash, and neither alcohol nor drugs are not expected as factors. Some snow was on the road at the time of the crash.
Neither Bumgardner nor Woodrum appeared to be wearing their seat belt.
