Man charged with OVI after crash

A Cridersville man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs after a minor crash in Lakeview early Wednesday morning, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.

Zachary T. Bailey, 20, was traveling on U.S. Route 33 west of Stephenson Street in Lakeview when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a road sign and fence, causing minor damage.

He was charged with failure to control, OVI and underage consumption of alcohol. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.147, deputies report.

Area Head Start getting $6.3 million more

Sherrod Brown, D-Cleveland, announced Tuesday $6,302,675 in new federal funds to support Head Start and Early Head Start programs run by Council on Rural Services, a non-profit education organization serving Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Preble, Shelby and Van Wert Counties.
