Fate of Miami River project could be decided Thursday
Examiner Staff Writer 05/13/08 Residents of Logan and surrounding counties could know by Thursday afternoon whether they will be required to pay their assessments for the cleanup of the Great Miami River. David Knight, a Logan County Commissioner and chairman of the five-county joint board of commissioners, said Tuesday he has convened a meeting for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Logan County Engineer’s Office. The purpose is to continue discussion of the project at the point the joint board left off last week and asked for a joint opinion of the prosecutors of the five counties. The attorneys met Monday and determined the actions taken to this point are legal, Mr. Knight said. For more on this story see Wednesday’s Bellefontaine Examiner.
