Eight offenders sentenced
04/30/08 Logan County Common Pleas Judge Mark S. O’Connor sentenced eight defendants on criminal charges during hearings this week. Benjamin Wheatley, 44, of Russells Point, was sentenced to a year in prison for endangering children. Scott Boggs, 30, of Lakeview, was sentenced to eight months in prison and was ordered to pay restitution for a misuse of credit cards charge. Douglas Hoffman, 40, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for possession of drugs. Colby Harris, 18, of Bellefontaine, was ordered to complete the six-month rehabilitation program at West Central Community Correctional Facility, five years’ community control and pay a $500 fine and court costs for obstructing justice. Teresa Pierson, 44, of Russells Point, was placed on five years’ community control and ordered to pay restitution and court costs for possession of drugs. James Deslandes, 44, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to two months in the Logan County Jail and was placed on two years’ probation for theft. Earl Woods, 23, of DeGraff, admitted a probation violation and was sentenced to 45 days in jail on an original trafficking in cocaine charge. Helen Seeger, 39, of Bellefontaine, entered a no contest plea and was placed on diversion for forgery and theft charges.
