First-time champions highlighted the 2018 Junior Fair goat show.
Thursday proved to be a belated birthday present for twins Braydon and Payton Slaven, as they claimed grand and reserve champion honors, respectively, in the Pygmy goat division.
The home-schooled siblings from rural DeGraff claimed their first-ever championships just a day removed from their 11th birthdays, they said.
Jada Shroyer of DeGraff claimed grand and reserve championships in the market goat show.
“I worked hard to get ready for the show,” Jada said. “You really have to put in a lot of time with your project, no matter what it is in order to win.
“It feels good to win.”
