Chad Schick, 40, of Belle Center, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs during a traffic stop about 10:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department observed his vehicle traveling 49 mph in a 35 mph zone in the area of State Route 366 and Township Road 239 and initiated the stop.
Upon making contact with Schick, signs of intoxication were observed, and he reportedly admitted to drinking a couple of beers.
He refused to perform field sobriety tests. Schick was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he tested 0.171 blood alcohol content.
The defendant also was cited for speed and was released to a sober driver.
