West Liberty Village Council is expected to pick a general contractor Monday to renovate its future police department.
Council received three offers during a Feb. 13 bid opening to turn what housed the former Pro Sign Design building at 111 Runkle Street into the new West Liberty Police headquarters.
Bids were received from Link Construction Group in the amount of $241,949. Miami-Erie Construction submitted a bid in the amount of $243,700. Westerheide Construction submitted a bid of $258,900.
It was Westerheide Construction that submitted the lone bid to overhaul the building last October, but that initial bid was approximately $120,000 more than council’s budget to rehabilitate the building.
Council rejected that bid and opened them up again for rebid offers.
About $190,000 has been projected to cover the cost to ready the police department, according to council’s previous meetings with its engineering firm.
