A 2009 Bellefontaine High School graduate was shot in the face early Thursday, Nov. 23, on a street corner near the Cincinnati bar where she works.
Elizabeth “Ellie” Richardson, 27, was shot at about 3 a.m. near Lachey’s Bar and Below Zero Lounge in the popular Over-the-Rhine district, WLWT-TV reports.
She was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for injuries that were not life-threatening, the television station reports. Investigators believe the situation may have sparked as Richardson walked across the street and a man in a van yelled obscenities at her. Officers believe she walked toward the van to talk with him about it and he shot her.
A black male suspect in his 20s with a thin beard was being sought by authorities. He reportedly fled in a van, which was caught on video driving by City Hall.
Richardson works as a manager at Lachey’s, according to her Facebook page.
