• Beggars’ Night — 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, countywide.

• Trick or Treat Outreach — 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, Zanesfield United Methodist Church; treats for children, free hot dogs and hot chocolate served.

• Trunk-or-Treat — 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, Galilee Lutheran Church, 301 Lincoln Blvd., Russells Point.

• Miami Grange community party — Thursday, Oct. 26, Miami Grange in DeGraff, immediately following Beggars’ Night; costume contests, games, prizes and refreshments.

• Ghosts & Goblins: Literature to Scare and Delight — 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, Friday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Oct. 28, Mac-O-Chee Castle, two miles east of West Liberty at the intersection of state routes 245 and 287 and County Road 1; costumes encouraged; 19th century autumn games, goblin adventures, doctor-scientist stories by Nathanieal Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe; dark cellar walk and trick or treat options; bonfires Friday and Saturday; $10 adults; $5 ages 5-15; visit www.piattcastles.org.
