Veterans’ stories sought

American Legion

In preparation for its centennial celebration in 2019, the Harold Kerr Post 173 of the American Legion is seeking to publish a library quality book with short biographies of the county’s veterans.

Veterans or their surviving relatives can submit 150-word submissions and a photograph will be included without a charge, while longer biographies will cost 15 cents per extra word and $5 per photograph.

The post hopes to have enough material to fill a 104 page 81/2- by-11 inch coffee table publication.

Books can be ordered now at a cost of $44.95 and personalized for an additional $7. It is not necessary to buy a book to submit a veteran's biography.

The Harold Kerr Post, which is located at 120 Colton Ave., has fliers with detailed information on the project plus order forms for the books.

Biography submissions and book orders have to be made by Oct. 31.

The post also seeks community sponsors.
