Three local officials have returned from Tokyo after attending the 49th Annual Joint Meeting of Midwest U.S. and Japan Association.
Logan County Chamber of Commerce CEO and President Paul Benedetti, Bellefontaine City Councilwoman Deb Baker and Mayor Ben Stahler also used the trip to meet with the Japanese based parent companies of operations in Logan County and the area.
In all, there were 20 representatives from Ohio, including four from Union County and others from Honda, the City of Dublin, The Ohio State University, a regional economic development team from Columbus 20/20 and Jobs Ohio.
The conference, which was attended by 350 people from both countries, took place over the first three days of the trip. Five governors and scores of other business leaders from nine Midwest states were attended as did three governors from the Tokyo. They met with the Japanese prime minister on the first morning.
