Resident input sought for $500K federal grant

Public meetings begin Sunday to gather ideas

Quincy Village Council members discussed at their meeting this week two upcoming public input sessions for gathering ideas for village improvements that will be included in Quincy’s application for a $500,000 federal Community Development Block Grant.

Village officials encouraged Quincy residents to attend the meetings, slated for 3 p.m. Sunday April 23, and 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Quincy Community Building.

When considering Community Development Block Grant requests, the federal committee looks at the participation of citizens during the application process, village officials noted. Each project submitted will be considered and determined if funding will be available after prioritizing the projects.

Flyers with grant meeting information will be distributed to village households, and handouts are also available at the Civista Bank in Quincy and the Quincy Post Office.
