Drivers charged after alcohol-related crashes

Edwin Knight, 22, of Mentor, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a deer crash Sunday evening. 

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report he was operating a southbound vehicle on County Road 93 near State Route 235 about 11:40 p.m. when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle then went off the left side of the road, and the driver lost control, crossing the road again and the vehicle overturned. 

No injuries were reported, and the vehicle sustained heavy damage. 

Signs of intoxication were observed, and Mr. Knight tested a 0.168 blood alcohol content level. 

• Justin Coleman, 24, of East Liberty, was charged with OVI and was cited for failure to control following a crash about 5:40 p.m. Friday. 

Troopers report he was operating a southwestbound vehicle on County Road 153 when he drove off the right side of the road and stuck a ditch, a fence and a parked commercial vehicle.

No injuries were reported. Damage was moderate to the vehicle, which was towed from the scene. 

Mr. Coleman displayed signs of intoxication, and he tested a 0.141 blood alcohol content level.
