Hit/skip crash nets OVI charge

Dwight Joseph, 41, of 5118 N. U.S. Route 68, Lot 105, Bellefontaine, was charged with OVI and leaving the scene of an accident Saturday evening.

Deputies received a report of a car that had struck a guardrail on U.S. 68 just north of County Road 57 about 10 p.m. The vehicle then reportedly proceeded northbound with its headlights off to Eagles Campground, 5118 N. U.S. 68, where employees of the campground reported the vehicle was driving recklessly.

A black car with frontal damage was located at the campground, and the driver, Mr. Joseph, was arrested after he admitted to striking the guardrail on U.S. 68. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
