OHP investigating fatal crash in Clark County

Springfield — The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Springfield Post is investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 40 west of State Route 54 in Harmony Township, Clark County.

Dylan R. Numbers, 20, of Springfield, was operating a car eastbound on U.S. 40 at an unsafe speed, lost control and slid off the right side of the roadway striking a large traffic sign, troopers reported. The driver was ejected out of the vehicle. 

Mr. Numbers was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Care Flight where he was later pronounced dead.

The Clark County Sheriff's Department, Harmony Township E.M.S. and Fire Department, and Maine's towing assisted at the crash scene.

Alcohol impairment is still under investigation and the Patrol's investigation is ongoing.
