Man transported to hospital following crash

Thomas E. O’Connor, 71, of Belle Center, was transported by Huntsville squad to Lima Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in a crash about 12:50 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound sport utility vehicle on U.S. Route 33 just east of State Route 274 when he drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch embankment.

The SUV sustained disabling damage. The crash remains under investigation.
