Sixteen years ago, Stanley Jackson led Ohio State to success on the gridiron and now he hopes to lead Ohio in a different direction.
Appointed by Gov. John Kasich to the Ohio State Board of Education in June, the former quarterback has transformed the zeal for sports that drove him to success into a zeal for education and the Republican Party’s ideals.
And he brought that energy to the Monday evening opening of the Logan County Republican Party’s 116 S. Main St. headquarters.
“This is your pep rally,” the 37-year-old told the crowd of party faithful and local candidates. “We cut the ribbon and it is time to go to work now.”
