Dan Bratka will be sworn in at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Logan County Courthouse as Logan County Family Court Judge, where he is currently a magistrate.
He will replace acting Judge C. Douglas Chamberlain, who retired at the end of July.
Bratka was selected by the Logan County Republican Party Central Committee last month to appear on the Nov. 6 ballot as a candidate for the position.
The names of Mr. Bratka and that of attorney Linda MacGillivray were sent by the committee to Gov. John Kasich who made the decision as to who will serve as interim judge until after the election.
With Mr. Bratka’s appointment, a vacancy now exists in the magistrate position.
