BUILD UP TO THE TEAR DOWN

Rigging_96

Riggers assemble scaffolding Wednesday in front of the Logan County Courthouse as part of a project to remove the wind-damaged clock tower which reaches as high as 150 feet above. It will take days to assemble the scaffolding so that Midwest Contracting Inc. can systematically remove the 70-foot tower from the courthouse roof. The $717,000 deconstruction project is covered by the county’s risk sharing group. A contract for rebuilding has yet to be awarded. (EXAMINER PHOTO | JOEL E. MAST)
