News media from a variety of local outlets from print to radio and TV joined forces Tuesday evening with local fire departments and other emergency workers to discuss how to better work together to get information to the public.

Logan County Sheriff Andrew J. Smith organized this segment of the monthly meeting of the Logan County Fire Chief’s Association that was conducted at the West Liberty Fire Department.
Host John Esch, West Liberty Fire Chief, said when he was approached by the sheriff with this idea to meet with local media, he was very receptive to the discussion and thought it would be a worthwhile use of meeting time.
“West Liberty is interested in communicating better with media, and I believe the other departments are as well.
“We’re interested in the input that you folks would have with us.”
