One of three suspected thieves who have hit several area Wal-Mart stores was arrested Tuesday after he tried to take more than $360 in merchandise.
Jason Parker, 30, of Ohio City, was lodged in the Logan County Jail on a charge of theft.
He reportedly loaded a cart with two deer hunting stands and a microwave oven before trying to leave the 2281 S. Main St. store armed with a receipt given to him by a named male suspect and an unidentified female suspect.
The couple had purchased the same items and exchanged the receipt in the parking lot, video surveillance showed.
Wal-Mart security told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department the trio is suspected of similar thefts from stores in Wapakoneta, Piqua and Sidney.
