URBANA — Officers of the Urbana Police Department are investigating a robbery at the Game-A-Rama Internet Cafe, 686 Scioto St., that was reported at 4:11 p.m. Thursday.
The robber reportedly passed an employee a note indicating that he was robbing the business and demanding money. The male suspect indicated he had a weapon, although no weapon was observed.
The man then fled the business on foot. Police searched the area with the assistance of a K-9 and his deputy-handler from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office. The K-9 search proved unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
It is unknown if the robber was assisted or had access to a getaway car.
Police investigators processed the scene and collected items of evidentiary value which they hope may lead to the identity of the individual.
The suspect is described as a light to medium skinned male, thin build in early 20s, wearing tan khaki shorts, dark T-shirt, dark baseball cap with a dark colored bandana beneath the cap. His face was uncovered and exposed.
