Motorist faces charge

NISWONGER

Micah L. Niswonger, 29, of DeGraff, was charged Monday with failure to comply and may face additional charges of criminal damaging, criminal trespass and reckless operation.

Around 3 a.m. Sunday, he drove his pickup truck from Hyland Hills shopping plaza, 870 E. Sandusky Ave., onto Newford Drive and then Hilltop Drive. At 926 Hilltop, he drove into the rear yard and then across the yard of 922 Hilltop before hitting chain link fence and small tree. The fence and tree were destroyed by the pickup.

He ran from the scene into wooded area and hid out for two hours before calling family members to pick him up.

Officers talked with him Monday and lodged him in jail.

Woman charged in domestic

Chanda A. Hensley, 34, of 616 Garfield Ave., was charged Saturday with domestic violence.

She confronted her estranged husband Aaron Hensley in the drive of her home around 11:30 a.m. and slapped him in the face.

While talking with police, she admitted to striking herself to make it appear Mr. Hensley hit her.

A 14-year-old daughter confirmed her father’s account.

The defendant was lodged in jail.

License plate lands man in jail

ILSE

Arthur H. Ilse, 48, of 812 W. Sandusky Ave., was charged Saturday with receiving stolen property.

An officer on patrol was alerted by a license reader to a stolen plate on a pickup truck parked behind Norm’s Bar, 212 S. Main St.

He was located inside around 10:30 p.m. and told officers several lies before he was arrested and lodged in jail.

Man found passed out

Paul M. Gallegos, 31, of 311 Ludlow Road, was charged Sunday with public intoxication.

He was found passed out behind Moore’s Cafe, 111 S. Detroit St., around 1:35 a.m.
