Representative Larry Armstrong shared news that Huntsville’s own radio station, WOHP-LP 101.3 FM, located near the firehouse, is up and running full time, providing residents with current news and information.
A radio station open house is planned in conjunction with the fire department hog roast/fundraiser Oct. 11. More information on the event is forthcoming.
Solicitor Matt Chamberlain issued the oath of office to council member Margaret Frazier, who replaces Carol Williams.
Logan County Deputy Ryan Furlong presented council with a quote for a fire/EMS department access control system to do away with keys that tend to get copied or are not returned after someone leaves the department. The new system would use electronic key fobs that could be reprogrammed or deleted when a volunteer leaves the department. The system also will monitor who enters the building and what time they entered. Council approved the cost with a cap of $2,500.
