Budget commission approves $50,000 increase for health district
Lake Township Trustees learned Tuesday in a regular meeting their portion of the cost to fund the Logan County Health District next year.
According to a letter from the Logan County Auditor’s Office, Lake Township will be responsible for $8,816.50 to the health district as part of its budget for 2015.
That figure is based upon the township’s overall land valuation, which has been assessed at about $18.3 million.
Lake pays the second lowest of any of the county townships. Part of the reason for that is because sections of Lake Township are within the city limits, leaving Bellefontaine responsible for that portion of the contributions.
Bloomfield Township comes in with the lowest obligation toward the health board, with an $8,547 allocation based on $17.8 million assessed valuation.
