The entertainment is set for West Liberty’s annual Labor Day festival and includes a reunion performance of Kevin Mabry and Liberty Street.

On Aug. 30, West Liberty’s Lions Park will host a gospel music concert sponsored by Shine FM radio at 7 p.m. The featured group of that evening is Unspoken. Bingo is played beginning at 8 p.m. The annual roast beef dinner is served beginning at 11 a.m.; the parade begins at noon and the West Liberty-Salem band plays at 2 p.m. on the main ball diamond, lawn mower and go-kart racing starts at 3 p.m. on the pulling track and Dance Fusion performs at 3:30 outside the main food tent, preceding the 5 p.m. ice cream social. Square dancing begins at 5 p.m. outside the main food tent.
Antique tractor pulling begins at noon Sunday, Aug. 31, preceding entertainment lasting from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at West Liberty’s Lions Park will include Ellie Skinner, Mackenzie McManus, The Loganairres Big Band, The Smilin’ Valley Riders, Mac-O-Chee Kid, Reed Jones, Bill Purk, the local gospel group Unto Him and Jim Greer and the Mac-O-Chee Valley Folks.
At 8 p.m. a reunion concert will take place with Kevin Mabry and Liberty Street to wrap up the entertainment.
The public is encouraged to take lawn chairs.
Livestock sale checks to be distributed at fairgrounds
Junior Fair livestock sale checks can be picked up at the Logan County Fairgrounds as follows:
• Saturday, Aug. 23 — 8 to 9:30 a.m.
• Tuesday, Aug. 26 — 3:30 to 5 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 28 — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Library hosts Social Security program Monday
The Knowlton Library hosts a Social Security program Monday, Aug. 25, with a Social Security representative available in the AcuSport Community room from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Participants will be able to sign up for a “my Account” through Social Security. No appointment is necessary.
Logan County retired teachers to meet
The Logan County retired teachers meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at YMCA Camp Willson, for a dinner meeting.
Bill Davis presents a program on Indian folklore of Logan County. A silent auction to help fund the scholarship fund will take place as well.

Mobile veterans assistance unit to visit Bellefontaine
The Columbus VA mobile medical unit will be at the Logan County Veterans Service Office, 121 S. Opera St., to offer VA health care enrollment exams to eligible veterans from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the following days:
Tuesday, Aug. 26; Tuesday, Dec. 2; and Tuesday, March 3.
Veterans are to take their DD214/DD2015 and 2013 household income information as well as copies of photo IDs and any insurance cards. VA healthcare meets the guidelines for health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
The local veterans service office may be reached at 599-4221 to makie arrangements to pick up the health care enrollment form (1010EZ) prior to the dates listed above.
Vendors sought for benefit flea market
The Recovery Zone hosts an indoor/outdoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at the 440 S. St. Paris St. center.

BHS music parents conduct mum sale
The Bellefontaine High School music parents are currently conducting their annual mum sale, with orders accepted through Sept. 2.
The flowers are $8 per 8-inch pot from Amherst Greenhouse. Flower color choices available include burgundy, yellow, lavender/pink, white, orange/bronze and dark purple.
