Michelle Neer of West Liberty was selected as the newest store manager for the MCC Thrift Shop located at 106 N. Detroit St., West Liberty.
Last week marked Mrs. Neer’s first full month on the job since taking over for Kathy Lowry, who had managed the store previously since 1998. Mrs. Neer was selected among three candidates by the nine-member board from Bethel, Oak Grove and South Union Mennonite churches.
“This is a fun place to work, and I’m having a great experience,” said Mrs. Neer, sharing that she learned about the job through her church bulletin.
Assistant store manager Sue Harper said Mrs. Neer’s business mind and aptitude for computers has made for an easy transition.
“Michelle has caught on very quickly,” Mrs. Harper said, as the new manager assisted a customer with a bag of donated clothes.
“Not everyone would be able to pick this job up as quickly as she has.”
