Stoll earns consumer sciences award



Lois Stoll, a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Benjamin Logan High School, recently received the Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Professional in Community Service Award from the Ohio Association Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences, recognizing educators with significant accomplishments and outstanding leadership in programs and activities that promote community involvement.

Mrs. Stoll has been active in the Personal Finance initiative in Ohio, serving on state committees for creating the Personal Finance academic content standards, and writing content elaborations and instructional strategies.

She chairs the OATFACS conference, is a past recipient of the group’s Teacher of the Year and Distinguished Service Award and serves as the co-chairperson for Ben Logan’s Relay for Life Committee. In the past 12 years, the school has donated more than $300,000 to finding a cure for cancer. This year’s donation totaled $40,000.
